Dog Training Classes Are Available

New sessions start about four times yearly. Watch the website for announcements of when the next session will be starting enrollment.

One of the top reasons families relinquish their dogs to a shelter is due to behavior issues. The New Albany Floyd County Animal Control and Shelter recognizes this and is now offering affordable dog training classes for our adopters. This 8 week course includes basic obedience and an introduction to agility obstacles.  Classes will be held on Sunday evening for 8 weeks from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Hillside in Floyds Knobs, IN!  The classes are $20.00 if you have adopted your pet from the NAFC Animal Control and Shelter. If the dog was not adopted from our shelter, the fee is $65.

Stop by the shelter and register for class or for more information call 948-5355. The 1st class will be an orientation for you and your dog to enjoy. We will address collars, leashes, rules, and verify paperwork. Please bring your dog,  paperwork, proper collar and leash, and soft treats!

Make certain to read the information on the following pages, as it will help you with collar and leash selection! IF you need help or assistance feel free to call the shelter or stop by!
