Shelter Unveils New Cat Central Station!

The New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter is thrilled to announce the unveiling of our new communal cat room, The Cat Central Station! On August 21st the shelter will host an open house, with free refreshments, including grilled hot dogs. All pet lovers in the community are urged to come and see this new wondrous addition to our shelter!

Our refurbished communal cat room will be a one of a kind place for cats in the Kentuckiana area! The unique design will feature a maze of cat ramps, scratching posts, and comfortable perching areas that have both function and beautiful form. Our manufacturer, Grant Smith, is leading the way in designing shelter cat rooms that are stress reducing and fun for both cats and people.

Don’t miss this fun filled family event featuring our communities’ adoptable felines! Our Summer of Love Cat Sale has slashed our adult shelter cats adoption fees to $10. This includes spay/neuter, initial vaccinations, microchip, and a negative Felv/FIV test.  Doors will open at 11, and visitors and adopters will be welcome until 2:30.

”Deal or Steal” Greentree Pet Adoption Event

Another highlight of the day will be at our Greentree Mall Pet Adoption Center with a special “Deal or Steal” Adoption event. To clear our store for an upcoming relocation, adopters will have a chance to draw for the amount their adoption will be discounted. Adopters that draw a steal card will have their cat’s adoption fee completely waived, but everyone will get a deal. The Greentree Mall Pet Adoption Center cats are currently available for a $20 adoption fee.  The Deal or Steal event is only happening at our Greentree Mall location and is sponsored by Terry Middleton’s Karate Kickboxing and Boxing.

10 Year Anniversary Celebration!

Our 10 Year Anniversary Celebration was HOT!!

Our party to celebrate our last 10 years of saving lives was a big success! 10 cats were adopted, and 1 dog. We were hoping for more, but our $10 adult cat sale will be continuing! Watch for additional details next week!

Thanks to all the humans and their K9 pals that attended, the dignitaries, Mayor England and his representatives for recognizing the work that we do, every volunteer and staff member that has made a difference, and every adopter. Together we save lives!

Besides staff and volunteers, our event today was made possible by the generosity of several local businesses and community members. Special thanks to our donors Sav-A-Lot Grocery, area Kroger Stores, Conner Jewelry, Feeders Supply, Superpetz,   Three Dog Bakery, all who gave door prizes, the Floyd county Animal Rescue League, and Sweet Stuff Bakery. We had an anniversary cake that was AMAZING!

Watch for photos next week!
